In Darryl McDaniels story, he spoke of how he and Joseph Simmons were on tour in Europe and how he ha dcome dow with a case of depression. He actually had thought of killing himself and did not follow through in ending his life. In the stroy, McDaniels explained that if he were to end his life during the tour, Simmons and the rest of Run DMC would get mad at him. He was going to jump off a cliff but thought to himself "that's too high," and "that's gonna hurt". Then he discovered Sarah McLachlan's song, "Angel" and according to McDaniels, this song and album changed his perspective on his life. McDaniels met McLachlan at a party and expressed that her music saved his life. A few years later, Darryl and Sarah had put together a song called "Just Like Me" which was intended on expressing how Darryl over the pain that was in his chest, the empty void where he did not know who he was.
